How the fuck did Kinect sell 10 million in 3 months?

Sure, I get it, it has the wow factor. But have you looked at those games? Beyond Dance Central, they are all awful rehashes of existing crappy Wii games. On average, each Kinect buyer has also brought one game. I sincerely hope it wasn’t Kinect Sports, Game Party, Joy Ride, or Dance Paradise. It probably was one of those, as they hold the most mainstream appeal. They also happen to be some of the worst.

Two of the main things i’ve heard about Kinect is “it works” and “yeah, its fun”. The majority of those people who said either of those two things now hardly play it.

I don’t think selling 10 million is a big milestone, I think it’s a sign of the games industry, and it’s rise in to a mainstream media source. The Wii started this trend, becoming popular with almost everyone, managing this even thought quality of software is at an all time low for the games industry. The previous Nintendo Seal of Approval no longer exists, and it shows. Looking at the piles of crap shovel-ware games in video game shops is just a depressing sight. 2% of them are good, and those are developed internally at Nintendo.

But, hey. Remember… it works. Which, you know, is good.

Go for a crazy art style, and i’ll love your film! Even if you fill it with clichéd balls.

Oh, and Odeon… please stop with the “From The Red Carpet” bollocks advertising. Have you looked at their shitty website?
